Terms of Supply & Delivery

01Supply-only basis & Building Regulations

  • doork is a materials supplier. We do not provide installation, carpentry or site surveying.
  • Compliance with UK Building Regulations — including Approved Document B (fire), Part E (sound) and Part L (energy) — is the responsibility of the buyer, installer and local building control.
  • Fire certificates and data sheets for FD30 and FD60 doors cover certified assemblies. Trimming beyond the lipping allowance marked on each door (typically 3mm per edge) voids the fire certification and the manufacturer's warranty.

02Kerbside delivery

  • Deliveries arrive on 7.5- or 18-tonne vehicles with tail-lifts.
  • Delivery is kerbside, to the nearest hard-standing ground-floor point next to the public road. Drivers are not insured to carry doors inside, upstairs or over uneven ground.
  • Please make sure the vehicle can reach you. If access is blocked (low bridge, narrow lane, steep incline, parking restrictions) and delivery can't be made safely, redelivery or return carriage is chargeable.
  • Flat £49 delivery per doork depot, free when your doors total £500 or more inc VAT. Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland and offshore postcodes are quoted separately.

0348-hour inspection & damage claims

  • Please inspect the packaging and visible door faces when your delivery arrives.
  • Report transit damage, shortages or errors in writing with clear photos within 48 hours of delivery, and before hanging, trimming, planing or finishing.
  • Once a door has been cut, planed, mortised, drilled or treated it is deemed accepted and can't be returned for damage or defects that were visible beforehand.

0414-day returns (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

  • Non-trade customers may cancel and return standard stock doors within 14 days of delivery.
  • You arrange and pay for return carriage to our depot. Pallet return freight usually costs £60–£120+ VAT.
  • Returned doors must be in their original packaging, stored flat, unhung and in resaleable condition.
  • Made-to-measure, bespoke-glazed or modified doors can't be returned unless faulty.

05Storage & acclimatisation

  • Store doors flat on three or more level bearers in a clean, dry, ventilated room for at least 48 hours before hanging.
  • Never store doors on edge, against walls, on damp screed or in rooms where plastering is still drying.
  • Seal all six faces — both faces, both edges, top and bottom — straight after unpacking or trimming. Not sealing all six faces voids the warranty against bowing and twisting.

06Payment

  • Orders of more than four doors are best placed as a quote, paid by bank transfer (BACS) against a pro-forma invoice. Quote prices are held for 30 days.
  • Prices include 20% VAT unless shown otherwise. A VAT invoice is issued with every order.
